Inspection Report for upper combustion water
wall panel at AEI Global Engg, Trichy.

The panel drawing no UCFSP-B1, B2, C1, and C2 is offered for visual inspection and same panel is witnessed for hydro test. The panel drawing no UCLSP – A1, A2, UCRSP – A1, A2, UCFSP A1, A2 and UCRP A1, A2 is not ready for hydro test.

The above photo shows water wall panel assemblies are arranged for panel hydro test. The hydro test is carried out and pressure 129Kg/cm2 hold upto 30 minutes. There is leak and pressure drop is not found.

The stud longitudinal pitch is cross checked and found ok as per drawing 100mm length.

The stud stagged pitch is found as per drawing 50mm length.

The photo shows panel corner stud orientations which is found as per approved drawing 45º and 90º.

The liquid penetration test is carried for tube to fin welding. The small pin hole defect is found and same is reported to vendor. The pin hole has to be ground smoothen and material filled by TIG welding.

The welds knots are found between tubes to fin welding that has to be ground smoothen for ash free flow at fire side. The water wall panels are not acceptable without the knots ground smooth.

The pitch distance between tube to tube is 76mm and same is witnessed in all panel and found OK.

The studs are tested for hammer test and found OK. The dimensions are Ø10 x 25mm.
